5 Day Workshop exploring Kristin Linklater’s ‘Freeing The Natural Voice’ technique with Ben Joiner

I am excited to be taking a part in this 5 day workshop exploring voice. Having researched Kristin’s techniques during the R&D for my recent work ‘On Communication’ I am really looking forward to delving in further into this research.

I have been asked to memorise a short text and have chosen Lord Byron’s beautiful poem:

There Is Pleasure In The Pathless Woods

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne’er express, yet cannot all conceal.
If you would like to read more about the technique I recommend Linklater’s book ‘Freeing The Natural Voice’ … has been a great resource!
